Welcome to Rose Quartz Center for Therapeutic Change! I am very humbled and honored that out of all the therapists available to you within the state of Texas, you have chosen my practice, and for that, I thank you! Here at Rose Quartz Center for Therapeutic Change, my mission as a therapist is to make sure that everyone whom I interact with feels heard.
Rose Quartz is the stone of universal love, meaning love and compassion. This stone encourages trust and harmony in all relationships. It promotes gentleness, positivity, and compassion. It opens the heart to forgiveness and allows one to be more receptive to love. The healing that this stone holds is the healing that this company wants for all of its clients!
My name is Nancy Basoah-Scott. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and a Certified Sex Therapist Candidate working under the supervision of Ashley Blu Staats, PhD, LMFT-S, CST-S. I received my Master of Arts degree in Counseling with a concentration in Marriage, Couple, & Family Counseling from St. Edwards University in May 2023.
While in grad school, I was able to provide therapy to individuals and couples in addition to being a co-therapist for the PHP group at Rock Springs Hospital in Georgetown, TX. I also had the opportunity to provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families at Capital Area Counseling in Austin, TX.
I specialize in couples, sex, infidelity, marital conflict, relational conflict, intimacy issues, and communication issues. I am a sex-informed and sex-positive therapist. I am a therapist who has had the privilege of working with individuals and couples who are a part of the kink community, LGBTQ+ community, sex work industry, and non-monogamous relationships as well as monogamous relationships. I am a trauma-informed therapist who has worked with individuals who struggle with PTSD as well as sexual trauma. I am currently a Level 2 trained Gottman Method Couples Therapist and have received additional training in Gottman Method Affairs & Trauma, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Intimacy, Infidelity, Anxiety, Solution-Focused Therapy, as well as Sexual issues, amongst other topics.
I believe that in order for one to get the full therapeutic experience and to be able to heal, both the therapist and the client need to be 100% honest and open with each other. Know that I am fully committed to helping you with your therapeutic journey.
I approach therapy from a collectivistic perspective. This means whether I am your individual therapist, couples therapist, family therapist, group therapist, or even your relationship coach, together, we will look at your different relationship dynamics to see how it plays a role within your current situation.
I take a directive approach to therapy meaning I will be frank about how you are contributing to your current struggle. We cannot change, nor do we have control over the people around us, but we do have control over ourselves and can make changes within ourselves in order to have a different outcome within our situation.
It is important to note that resistance to change is a key obstacle to success in therapy. I can only be of assistance if you are ready and willing to put in the work!
Currently Rose Quartz Center for Therapeutic Change is only offering telehealth services.
